Focused on the Task at Hand

I was outside at the end of the day today, watching some children playing netball, a version of our American basketball (without the backboard or dribbling). It was noisy and busy and very exciting. As I stood watching the game, I noticed a small girl working outside her classroom door with some clay.

I shot this series of pictures over a thirty-minute period. Talk about focused, nothing was going to interfere with the completion of what appears to be a small-girl sized turtle.

When the turtle was completed, and the time had come to go home, she allowed me to take her picture again.

LOVED the hat. This site is so wonderful, Amy. It lets the rest of us sense a little of the wonder.

Amy,
Max would like to know a couple of things about the school:
1. What do the kids eat for lunch?
2. Which language is spoken?
3. Do they have grades like the US a,b,c,f)
4. Can you get the rules for net ball?
We are learning about your experience as a family. As I go through my day I think about what you are doing and the differences in lifestyle/culture/survival. It makes me aware. Thank you. Jacq-

Greetings! I hope your day went well. Just being back in the classroom must be a blast, I can only imagine what it's like over there. It sounds like the science classes encourage exploration? Or are the kids just naturally explorative? (I probably know the anwer to that, lol) Have a good day and evening and have a great Thanksgiving. I'll be home Thursday evening about 4:30 my time and I'll bring my headset if you want to SKYPE.

What a lovely child. How is their nutrition and clothing? Do the children wear shoes? If you look for items they could use perhaps we could do do a fundraiser ad send a care package of sorts. We did this to a friend in Jamaica where they needed fabric, shoes, t-shirts and hymnals.
